Plan B Games · Board Game · released 2017

Michael Kiesling's 2017 abstract tile-laying game — every player decorates the walls of Portugal's Royal Palace with azulejos tiles. Two-to-four, 30 minutes, learnable in three. One of the best gateway board games of the last decade. Spiel des Jahres 2018 winner for very good reason.

A short note on this entry —

I have always thought a good board game is one where two of the players can leave halfway through and the remaining two still want to keep playing. By that test, this is a good board game. Bertram opened the box at the bench last Tuesday, counted every meeple against the manifest twice, and shrink-wrapped it again because the original wrap was perfect.

If you would like the cabinet's full inspection report for this particular item, write to [email protected] with the serial number above. Iris keeps a copy of every bench-check sheet for six years.
